From virtual vision to physical mastery: Station 1 is where students demystify the hardware that powers our world.
CS.K-2.4 – Recognize that technology is used to connect people and share information
CS.K-2.6 – Practice responsible use of technology and digital tools
CS.K-2.7 – Identify ways to stay safe when using the internet
CS.3-5.4 – Explain how computing devices communicate and connect in a network
CS.3-5.7 – Practice safe and responsible use of technology and the internet
CS.3-5.8 – Understand how information is shared across digital systems
CS.6.4 – Describe how data is transmitted across networks and the internet
CS.6.8 – Explain the importance of cybersecurity and protecting information
CS.6.9 – Analyze how devices and systems interact within a network
Station 1 Mastery: Hardware Hub
Hardware Identification: Students move from "Think It" to "Create It" by identifying critical internal components like the CPU, Motherboard, and RAM within a live, open-chassis system.
Peripheral Mastery: Foundational training on essential external hardware, including precise Keyboard and Mouse navigation, printing, and audio-visual integration.
The Invisible Highway: A deep dive into Networking & Connectivity, students explore how computers connect to other devices like printers, tablets, and robotics tools within a shared environment.
Digital Architecture: From Idea to Creation: Students learn how their ideas move from planning to real-world creation, connecting digital designs to physical projects like 3D prints and classroom builds.
From virtual vision to physical mastery: Station 2 is where students master the invisible infrastructure that connects our world, turning individual components into a powerful, collaborative ecosystem.
Network Infrastructure: How Devices Connect: Students explore how devices connect using tools like routers and Wi-Fi, learning how information travels between computers, tablets, and other classroom technology.
Wireless Connectivity (Wi-Fi): Wi-Fi in Action: Students learn how wireless connections allow devices like Chromebooks and iPads to communicate and share information in a connected learning environment.
Digital Citizenship & Safety: Digital Citizenship & Safety: Students learn how to use the internet safely, respectfully, and responsibly by following clear “rules of the road” for online behavior.
System Diagnostics: Fixing Connection Problems: Students practice simple problem-solving by checking connections and learning what to do when devices are not working properly.
Students learn how devices are identified in a network using simple concepts like names and addresses, helping them understand how technology knows where information should go.
Station 3 Mastery: Our Digital Neighborhood
Digital Home Addresses (IP Basics): Students discover that every device—from Dash robots to 3D Printers—has a unique "House Number" so the network can find it.
The VerBloom Post Office: Mapping the path data takes from the Router to each specialized station in the studio.
The Secret Key (Cybersecurity): Students learn how passwords help protect their work and personal information, building an understanding of how to stay safe when using technology.
Responsible Neighbors: Students practice being safe, kind, and respectful in shared digital spaces, learning how their actions affect others.
Station 4: The Global Gateway - The World Wide Web!
From virtual vision to physical mastery: Station 4 is where students cross the bridge to the global STEM community, learning to navigate the World Wide Web with safety, purpose, and responsibility.
Station 4 Mastery: The Global Gateway
Staying Safe Online: Students learn how to safely explore the internet by recognizing appropriate content and making good choices while using digital tools.
Finding & Using Information: Students learn how to search for information online, ask questions, and use digital tools to support their learning.
Saving & Sharing Work: Students learn how their ideas and projects can be saved and shared across devices, helping them move from planning to creating.
Connecting With Others: Students explore how people communicate and collaborate using technology in safe and respectful ways.
